Description
André Demers pursues a unique artistic approach. Using only acrylic as a medium, he offers a personal iconography imbued with cynicism. Although his work is associated with the Pop-Art movements as well as with Op Art (Optical Art often qualified as psychedelic art), he remains influenced by several artistic currents. From this amalgam of influences, a completely fragmented work emerges. Unique in its kind, it stands out through an explosion of colors, chromatic contrasts on a geometric, mathematical pictorial structure. In addition, animals appear in several paintings as metaphors. Not very talkative about the meaning of his paintings, he prefers to leave it to the viewer to decode the work, which amuses him a lot. The works of André Demers are part of several private collections in Canada, the United States, France and Germany.
